Thanks so much for your interest in the 2015 Multnomah Days Parade – we hope you choose to participate in this great community event! We want more MUSIC this year – get out the instruments, boom-boxes or get that garage band out in daylight. Let’s rock the village this year!!
The parade starts at 10 am Saturday, August 15th. Advance registration isn’t required – just show up with your “blurb” (see below). Participants should arrive at Handy Andy’s service station, 7991 SW Capitol Hwy at Garden Home (across the bridge from Multnomah Village) by 9:15 am, armed with 2 copies of a short blurb about your float/group that will be read over the PA system. The blurbs can be printed on standard 8 ½ x 11” computer paper and should take less than 20 seconds to read. Participation is free, though we request that you donate either money or a nonperishable pantry item to Neighborhood House.
We’ll post more details on checking-in and lining-up, as well as a simple map, once we get closer to the event. Our little parade has grown more popular for entrants and viewers in recent years, and is one of the great community events in our area. We encourage you to try to liven this up for our crowd – add a band or some music, costumes, banners, dancers, etc. And feel free to forward this email to any interested groups or friends. The more, the merrier – especially if they’re bringing some musical bling!
